No. The app works without one. You sign in only to keep Premium across devices, and to restore it after reinstalling.
The app is available in 14 languages. The recipe catalogue is currently available in French and English; the other languages are being prepared.
Not for identifying your ingredients or finding recipe ideas. The catalogue is however written with Thermomix users in mind, and future machine settings will only be offered once they have been validated.
You correct it before anything is suggested. That correction is part of the flow, not an error path.
